For families
We value your voice, input, and involvement, and believe your involvement is crucial to your loved one’s recovery.
Family members can offer invaluable support to their loved ones as they embark on the recovery journey. Eating disorders affect the entire family system—success can be likely and lasting when loved ones are involved throughout the recovery process.
Family involvement is crucial
Research shows that family involvement during eating disorder treatment improves the rate of success for recovery. Being part of your loved one’s recovery journey can help improve communication and understanding between both parties, which can make all the difference.
We’re doing things differently
In a traditional in-person treatment setting, patients are removed from their triggers—whether it be their family, colleagues, friends, or general environment. Once they return to their regular lives, they aren’t fully equipped to deal with the pressures of everyday life. This is where the Within online eating disorder treatment program differs—we don’t take patients away from their everyday life, so they learn how to deal with triggers throughout the program and are able to adjust more effectively.
Family is often a huge part of our lives, which is why we believe including you throughout the entire recovery journey is crucial. You are part of the process and a key component to a successful recovery.
What to expect
Here at Within, we understand how important family support is for someone suffering from an eating disorder. However, we also understand you may have questions and may be unsure how you can help.
We’ll guide you throughout the entire process, from initial orientation through to post-treatment, we provide a safe space for you to ask questions, talk about your feelings and concerns, and help you understand how participating in the Within online eating disorder therapy program can help.
